For me, woodworking is more than a craft. As a fourth generation woodworker and wood turner, with more than 45 years of experience, I carry forward a family tradition rooted in craftsmanship, patience, and a deep respect for the natural beauty of wood.
Every piece I make has a story. Every piece I create is individually crafted from carefully selected woods, allowing the unique grain, color, texture, and character of the material to guide the work. My work ranges from functional pieces designed to be used and enjoyed every day to artistic pieces created simply to be admired. I frequently incorporate additional details and textures through pyrography (wood burning), carving, and hand-applied paint, giving each piece its own distinctive character.
After more than four decades at the workbench and lathe, my goal remains the same: to transform a beautiful piece of wood into something enduring, meaningful, and worthy of being treasured. For the Raleigh Collective Pop-Up, I am inspired to share with others the magic that emerges from under the bark.
